The maker
It began in Poland.
Monika trained formally, graduating from a school of millinery in Poland, then refined her craft in an atelier with a century of tradition, learning the discipline in the old and exacting way. Her gift for it was plain from the first.
It was Philip Treacy who saw it. She spent five years in his celebrated London atelier, making hats for the royal family and for many of the great names of film and music. In time she became one of his closest designers and then his principal one.
Seven years as head milliner at Jane Taylor followed, part of two decades spent shaping the most important days in other people's lives. Now, with around thirty-five years at the craft behind her, she gives that mastery its own name: Maria Monica London.

The hands

At Maria Monica London, Monika designs and makes every piece herself. She draws it, blocks it, sews it and finishes it. Nothing is outsourced and no piece is made twice.
The crowns

Royal occasions, the Royal Enclosure at Ascot, weddings, state days and editorial. Monika has spent her career dressing the most important days in other people's lives.
The atelier is taking introductions now, for the 2027 season and the occasions that matter most.
