In a seated row, under a low ceiling or in a crowded marquee a headpiece works where a wide brim does not. You keep the presence without asking anyone to move.

What is the difference between a headpiece and a fascinator?
A fascinator is a small ornament clipped or combed into the hair with no base. A headpiece is the wider term and covers anything worn on the head that is not a hat, including headbands, cocktail hats and veiled pieces. Everything here is blocked and wired by hand rather than glued.
How does a headpiece stay on?
On a band, on a fine comb, on an elastic matched to your hair colour, or a combination. Each piece is balanced and wired so it holds through a full day without adjusting, which matters more than size.
Can a headpiece be worn to Royal Ascot?
